Call for Entries: Powerhouse Women in Business Awards 2024 Celebrates Businesswomen in County Carlow
Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office is delighted to announce the Powerhouse Women in Business Awards returns for another year. These awards celebrate and acknowledge the professional achievements of women in business throughout County Carlow. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 21st November 2024, at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow with author, podcaster and practitioner, Joanne Sweeney hosting the event. It will be an evening dedicated to recognising some of the most inspiring and dedicated businesswomen in County Carlow.
These awards aim to highlight and promote the achievements of small and medium sized enterprises based in County Carlow, focusing on businesses with 10 full-time or less employees. The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards feature ten categories:
- Powerhouse – Young Businesswoman of the Year 2024: Honouring a young entrepreneur who has shown remarkable potential, innovation, and leadership in her field.
- Powerhouse – Start-Up of the Year 2024: Recognising a dynamic start-up that has achieved significant growth and success within a short period.
- Powerhouse – Creative Businesswoman of the Year 2024: Celebrating a businesswoman who has excelled in a creative industry, whether in the arts, design, or another creative enterprise.
- Powerhouse – Best Customer Service Award 2024: Awarding excellence in customer service, recognising businesses that go above and beyond in delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Powerhouse – Best in Professional Service Award (B2B) 2024: Highlighting a business that provides outstanding professional services to other businesses, showcasing expertise, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Powerhouse – Outstanding Management & Leadership Award 2024: Celebrating a leader who has demonstrated exceptional management skills, strategic vision, and the ability to inspire and lead a successful team.
- Powerhouse – EmpowerHER Green Business Award 2024: Recognising a businesswoman who has made significant contributions to sustainability and environmental responsibility in her business practices.
- Powerhouse – Digital Transformation of the Year Award 2024: Honouring a business that has successfully embraced digital technologies to transform operations, enhance customer engagement, or innovate in their field.
The two final categories, the Lifetime Achievement Award 2024, and the Businesswoman of the Year Award 2024, will be selected from the overall pool of applications received in the above categories. These prestigious awards represent the highest honours of the evening, celebrating a woman who has made a profound and enduring impact in her industry through commitment, innovation, and exemplary leadershi

Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, commented on the event: "The Powerhouse Women in Business Awards are a remarkable opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions of women in our business community. The event will commence at 6:30pm with dinner, followed by the awards ceremony. Entries are open from 5th July 2024 to 30th September 2024. Finalists will receive four complimentary tickets to the Powerhouse Women in Business Awards on 21st November 2024.
