Carlow Businesses Explore Growth Opportunities at London Excel Expo

A number of businesses from Carlow have taken a significant step toward exploring new growth opportunities by attending the prestigious Tourism, Hospitality, Landscaping, Cafe, and Hotel Sector Trade Events Expo at the London Excel on 15th October 2024. This initiative, organised by Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office, is part of an ongoing effort to promote local business growth and foster international trade connections.

The Tourism, Hospitality, Landscaping, Cafe, and Hotel Sector Trade Event is a premier international event attracting global leaders from a range of industries and offered the Carlow businesses an opportunity to connect with new partners and suppliers and discover innovative new technologies. The visit was designed to provide these companies with firsthand experience of the latest industry trends, cutting-edge products, and services that could help them scale their operations and compete on an international stage.

Commenting on the trip, Linda Culleton, Economic Development Officer in Carlow County Council said, "This was a great opportunity for Carlow-based businesses to engage with global industry leaders, access new markets, and find innovative solutions that can drive growth back home. We are committed to ensuring that our local enterprises have the resources, networks, and opportunities they need to succeed."

The Carlow businesses represent a diverse range of industries, including hospitality, garden centres, cafes, tourism and arts, reflecting the vibrant and adaptable nature of Carlow’s business community. By participating in the London Excel Expos, these companies are positioning themselves to capitalise on new product and supplier opportunities, new partnerships, and business expansion.

The trip is part of a broader strategy by Carlow County Council to support local businesses in scaling their operations and to promote the region as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. Carlow County Council continues to provide assistance to businesses seeking to enhance their competitiveness, both locally and internationally.
