Carlow Celebrates Bennekerry/Tinryland’s Historic All-Ireland Victory

Carlow County Council proudly hosted a triumphant homecoming celebration for the Bennekerry/Tinryland Ladies Football Club following their remarkable victory in the AIB All-Ireland Club Intermediate Championship final. The event took place on Saturday, 14th December 2024, outside Carlow Town Hall, where an enthusiastic crowd gathered to cheer on the champions and celebrate this historic achievement for the county. During the event, the team and management were formally introduced, receiving rapturous applause from fans who turned out in droves to Honor their success. 

Speaking about the celebration, Cllr. Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, shared his pride, saying: "On behalf of Carlow County Council, I want to congratulate the Bennekerry/Tinryland Ladies Football Club for the immense pride they have brought to the people of Carlow with their exceptional performances in the AIB All-Ireland Club Intermediate Championship. This year’s campaign showcased the incredible sporting talent we possess in County Carlow. The determination, skill, and fighting spirit of this group of players are an inspiration to all and a credit to our county.”

Cllr.
