ShopLocalShopCarlow Digital Campaign: A Free Opportunity to Boost Your Business & Showcase Carlow in 2025

In an effort to support and promote local businesses, Carlow County Council, Carlow Chamber, Carlow Tourism, and Network Ireland have launched the ShopLocalShopCarlow Digital Campaign. This initiative aims to enhance the online presence of retailers, hospitality businesses, and service providers across Carlow at no cost, offering them an unparalleled opportunity to reach new customers and strengthen their digital marketing strategies.

The campaign is designed to provide professional digital content, strategic marketing support, and increased visibility across high-traffic online platforms. By participating in this initiative, businesses will gain access to high-quality visuals, engaging videos, and compelling storytelling techniques that highlight the unique character of their offerings. Through strategic content syndication, businesses will be featured on multiple high-profile platforms, extending their digital reach and increasing customer engagement. This collective effort aims to showcase Carlow’s vibrant towns and villages, encouraging both locals and visitors to explore the area's diverse retail, dining, and hospitality experiences.

The programme is open to eligible businesses within the Carlow County Council Administrative Area. Upon registration, participants will benefit from on-site content creation, where expert teams will visit business premises on April 7th, 9th, and 14th, 2025, to capture high-quality visuals and videos. Additionally, businesses will have the opportunity to attend professional photoshoot sessions in April, ensuring they have premium marketing materials at their disposal. To further support participants, an online campaign briefing session will be held to provide guidance on maximising the benefits of participation, including social media strategies and customer engagement techniques. Businesses can also opt to create special gift voucher promotions to attract more customers and increase footfall during the campaign period.

Carlow County Council’s Head of Economic Development & Enterprise, Kieran Comerford, emphasised the importance of this collaborative effort, stating, “This initiative is about working together to create a strong digital presence for local businesses, ensuring Carlow is seen as a thriving destination for shopping, dining, and tourism. It’s a unique, free opportunity for businesses to enhance their visibility and drive growth.”

Echoing this sentiment, Cllr. Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council highlighted the benefits of participation, noting, “We know that digital marketing plays a crucial role in business success today. Through this campaign, we are providing businesses with the tools and exposure they need to stand out, attract customers, and showcase what makes Carlow special.”
