Top Videos Selected for Online Busking Competition on YouTube
The excitement is building as the top videos have been selected for the highly anticipated Online Busking Competition on YouTube as part of Streetfest. This event, part of the vibrant Streetfest programme has captured the hearts of our community and beyond with so much talent coming on the street during the pilot project. Now, it’s up to the public to decide the winner by viewing and liking their favourite performances until the competition closes on August 16th at midnight.
Cllr. Fintan Phelan, Mayor of Carlow, expressed his enthusiasm for the competition stating, "Supporting local talent is crucial for the cultural and economic growth of our town. This competition not only showcases the incredible talent we have in Carlow but also brings our community together in a unique and engaging way. I encourage everyone to watch, share, and support these talented individuals."
Linda Culleton , Economic Development Officer, one of the key organisers of Street Fest, highlighted the event’s impact on the town's atmosphere. "The busking competition added a remarkable vibrancy to Carlow. It’s been wonderful to see Lower Tullow Street come alive with music and creativity. Carlow is a perfect place to busk your heart away, and this competition is a testament to the incredible talent and passion in our community."
The top videos were selected based on a combination of originality, musicality, and overall performance. These finalists represent a diverse range of styles and genres, showcasing the rich musical tapestry of Carlow.
The public is invited to participate by visiting the YouTube channel, where the top videos are now live. Viewers can support their favourite acts by watching and liking the videos.
