Town & Village Renewal Scheme
Public Meeting – Monday 12th September 2016
The Town & Village Renewal Scheme was introduced by government and an allocation
of €380,000 will be available to Carlow County Council subject to applications reaching a quality standard. In order to facilitate the application process stakeholders, community representatives, groups and individuals are invited to attend a public meeting in order to generate project idea’s from the following Towns & Villages:
- Leighlinbridge
- Myshall
- Muine Bheag
- Tullow
- Borris
- Hacketstown
- Rathvilly
In order to prepare an application for your area there is a minimum requirement of 5 representatives from your Town or Village to attend this briefing. Representatives should come from various aspects of the community ideally. The aim of the scheme is to:
- increase the attractiveness of the town or village as a local commercial and social centre, and as a result increase its sustainability as a place in which to live and work;
- enhance the towns/village environment and amenities in the interests of residents, businesses, and visitors;
- promote the town/village’s potential for tourism and as a centre for culture and local heritage, thus enhancing the sense of identity - physically and socially.
