Preparing Your Business for Customs
The impact of Brexit and the new customs procedures are still being felt for businesses all across Ireland and the EU.
This workshop will focus on both imports and exports. Each participant will come away with a practical knowledge of customs and trade compliance. Businesses can implement the knowledge learned, which may reduce risk in the supply chain and save financial costs.
This workshop is aimed at:
- Businesses trading with the UK, EU or the world, who need to use new border processes
- Managers responsible for business planning and strategy who need to understand the implications of new trading arrangements
- Teams responsible for supply chains, compliance, purchasing and logistics who need to adjust to new processes
Workshop Contents:
- Latest political developments, announcements and government publications
- The role of Customs authorities
- Introduction to Classification & commodity codes, including practical exercises
- Customs valuation
- Rules of origin
- Incoterms and how to use them to reduce financial risk
- Customs declarations for imports and exports including Transit, with practical exercises
- Special procedures eg. AEO, Inward Processing, Customs Warehouse
