Founder of Arboretum, Rachel Doyle knows what it means to grow a business.
From a small set up in her back garden almost 45 years ago, Rachel has created a unique horticultural experience out of pure passion and devotion to what she loves. As Ireland’s first 5-star garden centre, Arboretum sets the standard for what garden retail is today.
Employing up to 140 people across two garden centres – Arboretum Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow and Arboretum Kilquade, Co. Wicklow – and with thousands of customers all over the country thanks to the development of the online shop at www.arboretum.ie, Arboretum is a modern family business that puts people and innovation to the fore.
Rachel’s focus on retail innovation, customer service and providing quality product has made Arboretum the lifestyle experience it is today. Her success was recognised in 2018 when she was a finalist in the Industry category of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
Rachel is chair of the horticultural division on the board of Bord Bia and is a former President of the International governing body for garden centres, the IGCA. Promoting Irish horticulture at home and abroad, she is a true champion of the Industry and continues to inspire people with her instinct for business and passion for plants.
