Revamped LEO Energy Efficiency Grant - increased to €10,000

Do you want to make your business more energy efficient with the help of a grant of up to €10,000?

The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Energy Efficiency Grant has just been revamped and relaunched with a number of significant changes, the main one being its increase from €5,000 to €10,000 and a change from match funding to now covering up to 75% of eligible costs.

Who is Eligible?

  • Small enterprises (with between 1 and 50 paid employees) who have undertaken a Green for Business, GreenStart or recent SEAI registered energy audit and who are not currently clients of Enterprise Ireland/IDA.
  • Established, solvent and operating within Fingal for at least 12 months.
  • Businesses with commercially rateable premises or approved within the Fáilte Ireland National Quality Assurance Framework.

Eligible Costs

  • Meters (electricity, gas, diesel, oil, water, steam & loggers) and installation costs
  • Smart energy controls e.g., heating, cooling, lighting, automatic on/off systems, parasitic load controls
  • Replacement/upgrade with more energy efficient system, e.g. Heat Pumps (including air, water, and ground source) for manufacturing heating processes
  • Heat recovery
  • Equipment (replacement/upgrade such as refrigeration unit, electric steam boiler, electric oven, industrial dishwasher, engineering equipment
  • Investment in energy efficient systems (not supported by another agency such as SEAI).

So what do you need to do to secure this grant?

  • Complete a Green for Business Report, Green Start or an SEAI Energy Audit. The grant provided should be to support the recommendations of one of the above reports. Please note your business must be solvent and trading from a rateable premises and not a domestic/home-based office. Ineligible costs include any energy efficiency systems available for support from other agencies such as SEAI, solar panels, biomass boilers, anaerobic digestors, heat pumps for space heating, insulation, waste treatment systems, activities related to fossil fuel e.g., fossil fuel condenser boiler.
