Le Patissier has won Gold and Silver at the 2014 Blas na HEireann Irish food awards which took place in Dingle on the first weekend in October, 3rd - 5th Oct 2014.
The LEO Fingal client, faced stiff competition from some of Ireland’s finest but walked away with Gold for its Paris Brest (a choux pastry ring filled with a praline cream) and Silver for its tarte aux citron meringue (a sweet pastry shell filled with homemade lemon curd and topped with a soft Italian meringue). "We make all our desserts and pastries from the basic food ingredients with niche recipes, classic cooking techniques and attention to detail, this gives us a huge advantage on taste, texture and appearance" explained Robert Bullock, Managing Director.
Less than 2 years ago Robert attended a Start Your Own Business course with LEO Fingal and has already built up Le Patissier to be a supplier of choice for desserts and patisserie within the food service sector. Robert is currently attending the 'Food Academy programme' which is primarily targeted at start-up food businesses and current Local Enterprise Office clients with workshops designed by Bord Bia and SuperValu.
