Blanchardstown Centre Lends Support to Aspiring Student Entrepreneurs from Fingal
Fingal’s Student Entrepreneurs from Coláiste Pobail Setanta put their innovative product on display in Blanchardstown Centre following their success at the Fingal Student Enterprise Programme County Final. Over 1000 students from 24 schools from across Fingal participated in the annual programme locally. The Fingal Student Enterprise Programme County Final took place on Monday 21
st
of March at County Hall, Swords. Finalists from Coláiste Pobail Setanta and Loreto Balbriggan will now compete against approximately 80 student enterprises from all over the country for a place in the Top 15 shortlisted teams to make it to a live event on Wednesday 18th May at The Helix in Dublin.
The Student Enterprise Programme is co-ordinated by the Local Enterprise Offices and involves 26,000 students from more than 480 secondary schools every year. Students create real life businesses and prepare real business plans with guidance from their teachers and coordinators.
Head of Enterprise in Fingal, Oisin Geoghegan
explains the importance of Fingal Student Enterprise Programme "The programme is a fantastic way of encouraging entrepreneurship among local students in Fingal. Students who participate in the programme develop business skills as well as gaining real life experience of running a business of their own which massively boosts their self-belief and ability to become successful entrepreneurs. We are very grateful for the continued support of the Blanchardstown Centre, which allows us to engage a very wide pool of talented young entrepreneurs."
Head of Marketing and Communications at Blanchardstown Centre, Kim McNulty
added: "This innovative programme allows secondary school students to gain a great insight into the work involved in running a real-life business and a chance to develop their entrepreneurial skills. It’s a brilliant initiative which we at Blanchardstown are delighted to support ”
