Sweet Victory: SOS Cookies baking up success for Limerick at the National Enterprise Awards
SOS Cookies has been named as Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 in the Limerick Final of the National Enterprise Awards, at a ceremony in the Engine Collaboration Centre on Cecil Street, Monday March 3rd.
SOS Cookies is a delightful bakery located in Limerick and known for its wide range of delicious cookie options. Founded in December 2020 by Sarah O’Sullivan, a chocolate-loving mastermind, SOS Cookies offers everything from taster cookie boxes and wedding favours to cookie birthday cakes. They provide both delivery and collection services, ensuring that their sweet treats are accessible to everyone. Sarah O’Sullivan on behalf of SOS Cookies, was presented with the award by Councillor Tommy Hartigan of Limerick City & County. Other awards went to Treaty Software - for Runner up Entrepreneur of the Year, Forest Mist - Winner Best Emerging Entrepreneur, Control Mate - Runner up Best Emerging Entrepreneur, Like Bikes - Winner Green/Sustainability Award and Garretts Butchers - Runner up Green/Sustainability Award.
The competition is organised by Ireland's network of Local Enterprise Offices (LEO) to give recognition to the contribution of micro enterprises to the National Economy. The annual results of the Local Enterprise Offices for 2024 have shown that LEO Limerick supported companies which created 178 net new jobs in the 12 months to December 2024. This is the eleventh year of year-on-year growth in jobs in Limerick with LEO Limerick supporting over 300 small businesses employing in excess of 1,800 people.
Speaking at the Awards event in Limerick, Mike O’Byrne of LEO Limerick said “At LEO Limerick, we pride ourselves on being the first stop for small to medium enterprises in Limerick City & County, thanks to our extensive support programs. These awards provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their achievements to a wider audience. The awards presented today recognize the individuals and businesses whose entrepreneurial vision and drive create valuable employment in Limerick, making them a vital part of the economic and social fabric of Limerick City and County”
SOS Cookies will now go forward as Limerick's representative in the National Enterprise Awards on 22 May 2025 at the Mansion House, Dublin.
