5 Week Management Development Programme for Young Businesses
This programme is specifically targeted at small businesses in Limerick City & County (max 10 employees)
Date(s): Wednesdays, 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th March and 1st April 2020 for 5 evenings

Workshop 1: Where we are now and where we are going
-> The aim of this workshop is to acknowledge success so far, generate buy into a programme of growth and to build greater ambition for the business. It also ensures that participants understand how to plan and how to measure activity.
- Where is my business now?
- SWOT Analysis
- Create a vision for the business
- Identify the key future success factors for the business
- Setting goals and action planning
- Knowing what to measure – focusing on KPIs and building a dashboard
Workshop 2: Leading and managing (myself and others)
->This workshop concentrates on helping the participants identify their strengths and their areas of passion for the business. Interactive activities helps participants to break down the current operations, leadership and management of the business and to assign responsibilities based on strengths, passion and expertise. This exercise highlights any gaps in the current team. The goals set in workshop one are used to ‘fast forward’ planning to ensure that the team that will be required to reach and deliver the goals are clearly identified. The workshop delivers an opportunity to explore how HR /team gaps might be resourced
- The difference between leadership and management
- Who should be doing what? Understanding the required roles within the business (existing and future team)
- Being clear and confident in your own strengths and passions
- Acknowledging personal weaknesses and skills gaps
- How to find and resource additional internal team, external advisors and collaborative partners
Workshop 3: Driving Sales
->This workshop is highly practical and interactive. Participants will complete an exercise designed to explore their current sales and marketing activity. The aim is to examine the below:
- Who is currently doing the selling and who really should be?
- Your sales process- is it working?
- How to measure the value of a customer: what are they really worth to your business?
- How to increase customer spend
- How to build a sales pipeline
- Measuring success not activity
- Networking for sales
Workshop 4: Building Financial Confidence
->This workshop aims to bring clarity and confidence to participants around the financial management of their business. Ensuring they understand what they need to do to manage and track business finances.
- Review of how you are managing your business finances now
- Costing and pricing
- How to manage: Cash flow, Debtors/Getting paid on time, Payment terms.
- Financial KPIs- what to watch to stay on top
Workshop 5: Social Media and Digital Marketing for Business
->All businesses need to tell their story online. This workshop is a review of their online activity to date and provides guidance to where and how they should be engaging with their target market online.
- Your current social media activity and impact review
- Using social media more effectively for business
- 8 big players (at the moment): Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram, snapchat
- Digital Marketing overview
