“Employment law essentials and updates” session will provide participants with an understanding of key aspects of employment law, together with details of the most recent changes and employer obligations
Objectives following the seminar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the statutory framework for HR compliance in Ireland
- Ensure legal compliance with regard to recruitment and selection
- Develop a Contract of Employment
- Understand how to ensure compliance with best practice and essential Codes of Practice with regard to HR policies and procedures
- Identify the key concepts of employment legislation and the responsibilities of the employer
- Understand the legislation surrounding termination of employment
- Have an understanding recent changes in employment legislation
Overview of Employment Law in Ireland Participants will be able to: - Recognise the key pieces of employment legislation
- Understand the importance of compliance and the consequences of non-compliance
- Understand the impact of legislation on various aspects of HR management
- Understand the Irish industrial relations system and process
Contracts of Employment Participants will be able to: - Recognise the legislation governing contracts.
- Prepare contracts in compliance with the law.
- Provide contracts in accordance with legal timeframe.
- Understand the legal considerations for fixed term contracts.
Leave From Work Participants will be able to: - Identify the main pieces of legislation governing leave
- Devise Contracts and procedures in compliance with the legislation
Grievances, Discipline and Dignity at Work Participants will be able to: - Recognise the benefits to employers and employees of developing and implementing clear HR policies;
- Understand the key elements of policies on Grievances, Discipline and Dignity at Work, as specified in the WRC Codes of Practice
- Address issues arising in the workplace, having regard to the above
