Local Enterprise Office South Cork is part of a network of Local Enterprise Offices nationwide. The role of the LEO is to support and provide assistance to existing and potential small business promoters located in the South Cork region. In addition, the LEO for South Cork aims to foster the development of an enterprise culture. Local Enterprise Office South Cork is funded by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and the European Commission

Local Enterprise Office South Cork previously traded as South Cork Enterprise Board. The 2012 Action Plan for Jobs committed to delivering an enhanced, expanded and more integrated support service for micro-enterprise and small businesses in Ireland.  As part of these reforms Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) were created within Local Authorities and the 35 existing County & City Enterprise Boards (CEBs) were dissolved. These new LEOs will build on the significant achievements of the County Enterprise Boards to date and will offer an expanded range of supports.
