Introduction

This page provides core documentation for the LEO users of pTools Content Management Software (CMS) to manage content of their website. The documentation combines online manuals (web pages) and PDF manuals for download.

 

SharePoint Website (The old forum has been moved)

A new SharePoint website has been put together for the LEO websites to replace the old forum. The link to the website is https://entirl.sharepoint.com/teams/External/LEO

Caching

Note that content can take up to 60 minutes to update on the website.  This is because website caching is enabled to speed up the website.

CMS Users

The key CMS Users are divided in to:

- System Administrator (admin access to Gateway/Portal website & all LEO websites)
- Site Administrator (admin access to specific LEO website/s)
- Event Administrator (admin access to specific LEO website/s Event section)

Website Template Manuals

The LEO websites are using predefined set of templates to deliver range of content to the end user. The CMS Template Manuals describes CMS functionality used on variety of templates/pages. The CMS functionality is used to manage the page elements within these templates such as logo, strap lines, navigation, content, files, images etc.

Each function is numbered on the template print screen and explained under the screen with function name & description.

How to use template manual:
- Identify page you wish to create/edit
- Find required page element within the screens of the manuals
- Seek for number of the element in the screen legend and read the description of the function (Example: Banner)
- Go to the CMS Admin and locate the specific CMS function (Example: Tools > Banners). If any queries, use online manual
- Select/navigate to the required part of the CMS function
- Make edits
- “Always” confirm your changes by clicking on “Save” or “Submit” buttons located at the bottom of the screen.
- The change will appear directly on the website within 0-20min

Locked sections of the LEO Website

Certain areas of the LEO websites cannot be edited or changed, this are basically any of the main menus on each site. Any “titles” & “alternate titles” of the website locations mentioned below can’t be edited:

If you edit any of these pages, it will break your website and damage the SEO value of your site.

When creating Event pages, these pages should only be created in the Training & Events > Online Bookings location. Events created anywhere else will not have information stored by pTools.

CMS browser requirements:

IE9, IE10 (IE Compatibility View is not supported), Firefox
"File Batch Upload" function requires Microsoft Silverlight  to be installed on users PC.
