General Business FAQs

How can my Local Enterprise Office help my business?

Your Local Enterprise Office can provide general Business Advice and Guidance, along with Training and Webinars, advice from experienced Mentors, Trading Online Vouchers and access to Covid-19 Business Loans. It can also help with grants for new and established businesses in the manufacturing and services sectors, based upon applicants meeting eligibility criteria.

I’ve contacted my Local Enterprise Office, when can I expect a reply?

Local Enterprise Offices are experiencing very high volumes of enquiries at this time which may cause a delay in responding to individual queries. You may have difficulty getting through on the telephone, so instead, make contact with your LEO directly via e-mail, the address of which can be found on their local website on the top right-hand corner (under the heading ‘Get in Touch’).

Make sure to be specific in your email, outlining your query and include your full contact details.

Most information on LEO supports is available on their website and all LEOs take online bookings with some also offering an online application process for several schemes.

Can my LEO help with my commercial rates?

No, Local Enterprise Offices are not able to assist with commercial rates enquiries. You will need to contact your rates officer in your Local Authority directly and ask for the rates office, which is a separate department in your council office. You’ll find contact details for your Local Authority here https://www.gov.ie/en/help/departments/?referrer=/en/service/list-of-county-councils#local-authorities

Can my LEO help with my queries on VAT and Tax?

Local Enterprise Offices run regular workshops to help businesses prepare their own VAT and Tax returns. However, when registering or making VAT and Tax submissions, businesses will need to contact the Revenue Commissioners directly. Please contact them though this link https://www.revenue.ie/en/vat/index.aspx
