“I truly could not have taken the leap without the help and support of LEO Waterford.”

Jayné Cahill is a Scottish artist whose work tells stories of places visited, lived in, and loved. Her passion lies in bringing to life the charm of Ireland’s landscapes, landmark buildings, and hidden gems through intricate pen and ink illustrations that stir memories and emotions.
A graduate of Visual Communications from Edinburgh College of Art, Jayné has enjoyed an award-winning career in graphic design and publishing for over three decades. Jayné first came to Dunmore East for a three-day break in 2002 and loved it so much, she never left.
The Covid-19 pandemic presented an unexpected turning point for Jayne. She pivoted to start creating and selling handmade facemasks, launching an ecommerce website with the support of the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Waterford through the Trading Online Voucher Scheme.
As the demand for facemasks waned, Jayné returned to her artistic roots, picking up her ink pen once again. This part of her business grew steadily and encouraged by online sales and local markets, she took the leap and officially launched Jayné Cahill Art in September 2023.
The Local Enterprise Office has become a constant presence in her journey, “I truly could not have taken the leap without the help and support of LEO Waterford. The mentoring programmes transformed my business, and courses like the Social Media Marketing Course and the London Design Festival event helped me develop skills and build valuable collaborations.”
Her work, available as limited edition mounted or framed prints and art cards, quickly gained popularity. Today, she is stocked in ten retail outlets and enjoyed a highly successful Christmas pop-up shop during Winterval 2024.
Jayné was also awarded the Priming Grant from the LEO, providing vital mentoring support and financial assistance. This allowed her to invest in equipment, explore new product ranges, and expand her business both in Ireland and overseas.
“My business would most definitely not be at the stage it is without the support of our Local Enterprise Office. I look forward to continuing this partnership as my business grows.”
