Representing County Westmeath is Clair O'Neill from Meab Enamels

clair

Meab Enamels official store — Irish Jewellery Designer

Clair O’Neill is the owner, craftsperson, and director of Meab Enamels Ltd, a female-founded business based in Multyfarnham, Ireland.

Inspired by her mother, Meab O’Neill, Clair has carried forward a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship, transforming a family passion into a thriving business. From a young age, Clair watched her mother create exquisite jewellery using a unique ‘open fire’ method. What began as a part-time hobby for Meab soon became the foundation for something extraordinary.

In the summer of 1999, Clair took the initiative to market and sell the jewellery to shops, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. This marked the beginning of Meab Enamels’ journey into the world of retail.

Over the years, Clair has grown the brand, expanding its offerings to include accessories such as silk scarves and building a wide network of retailers across Ireland. With a growing e-commerce presence and recent exhibitions at trade shows in the US in 2024, Meab Enamels continues to reach new heights under Clair’s leadership. Today, the Meab Enamels team includes Clair’s partner, Charlie, and her mother, Meab, who remains actively involved. The strength of this mother-daughter-founded business is a core value that continues to inspire and drive the brand forward. Clair’s story is one of creativity, resilience, and the power of female entrepreneurship. As she celebrates Women’s Day, she hopes to inspire others to embrace their passions, honor their heritage, and build a legacy of their own.
