This course is for Westmeath Businesses. Businesses who book on who are not based in Westmeath may be removed if the place is required by a Westmeath-based business

- Overview of the different types of companies permitted in Ireland
- Factors to consider in setting up a company
- Role and duties of Directors and Company Secretary
- CRO: registration and ongoing compliance
- Taxation: Company tax registration number and business taxes (corporation, employer, VAT etc) that may apply; differences in allowable expenses unincorporated entity v company; changes to filing deadlines
- Other considerations in transitioning from unincorporated business to a company structure: legal, asset transfer, employment/supplier/customer contracts, banking, communication
- Overview of role of government agencies in company governance
