The aim of the VAT section is to help business owners understand their obligations in relation to VAT registration, VAT thresholds, VAT rates, record keeping, calculations and the VAT returns. Participants will also gain knowledge of submitting Returns on ROS. The aim of the Income Taxes section is to provide each participant with a clear understanding of their responsibilities as a self-employed person and an understanding of how their business fits into the self-assessment tax system. They will also gain an understanding of how Income Taxes are calculated on their business profits with tips and advice to ensure they pay less tax.

VAT

c) The books and records that must be kept and for how long
d) VAT on EU transactions
e) VAT on imports & exports
f) VAT calculations
g) The VAT returns – VAT 3 and RTD
h) ROS Demo on submitting a VAT 3

i) Who pays Income Tax?
j) On what income do we pay income taxes?
k) Allowable Business Expenses
l) Income Tax, USC, PRSI rates
m) Tax Credits, Reliefs and Capital Allowances
n) Exempt Income
o) Preliminary Tax
p) An Income Tax Return working example
q) Important filing dates and deadlines
r) An opportunity to ask specific questions of the tutor

  • 100% return of course fee if sufficient notice from the participant (i.e. not less than 5 working days.)
  • 75% return of course fee if the participant notifies us 48 hours prior to the commencement of the course.
  • No refund if the participant does not notify us at least 48 hours prior to the commencement of the course.
