The Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment (DETE) and Enterprise Ireland (EI) Have made the decision to close the Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters Scheme. The Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters Scheme will close to applications at 23:59 on 31/12/24
This scheme will be replaced by the Market Exporters Grant in early January 2025.

The Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters (TAME) grant enables clients to explore and develop new market opportunities. The TAME grant part-funds the costs that can be incurred investigating and researching export markets, e.g. exhibiting at International Trade Fairs, preparing marketing material and developing websites specifically targeting overseas markets.
Note: Online application must be received minimum six weeks prior to attendance at trade fair
Grant Terms:
- Grant Covers 50% of eligible costs (net of vat) to a max of €2,500 in any calendar year (Jan – Dec)
- Applications must be made prior to any expenditure being incurred
- The completed application form must make specific reference to the business' export marketing plans and strategy
- Successful applicants should consider using a Mentor/Consultant to develop an export/marketing plan/strategy. (contact info@leo.dublincity.ie).
The Enterprise must:
- Not employ more than 10 people
- Enterprises located within the geographic location of the LEO Dublin City i.e. Dublin 1-13, 17 and 20
- Operate in the commercial sphere
- Demonstrate a market for their proposed product/service
- Be trading Minimum 6 months with sales
- Engage in manufacturing or internationally traded services
- Not have received any funding for their proposal from any other source
- The Company represents and warrants that it is not directly or indirectly, by way of trading (exports and/or imports), funding, self-financing arrangements, ownership, control, shareholdings, investments, financing of, and financial interactions with, others, participation in projects, operations, provision of access to ports, or otherwise, in breach of the restrictions, measures or sanctions provided for under European Council Decisions and European Council Regulations, including, but not limited to, those adopted in 2014 and in 2022, each of which are concerning restrictive measures or sanctions in respect of or arising from actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, including those which were adopted consequent upon Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, 2022, and thereafter, or in response to the military conflict in Ukrainian territories in 2014 and subsequently, or in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastapol by Russia, or in view of the situation in Belarus and the involvement of Belarus in the Russian aggression against Ukraine, or in response to the recognition by Russia of the non-government controlled areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine and the ordering of Russian armed forces into those areas
What does the TAME Grant cover?
- Exhibiting at international trade fairs and shows, Eligible Costs - Trade Show Exhibitor costs including rental/fees relating to space/stands; foreign travel & accommodation
- Participation at international trade networking events organised through the Enterprise Europe Network
- Development of specific Marketing Materials aimed at exploring new export markets
- Translation, e.g. of existing material (booklets, webpages, etc.) for export market
- Investigation of new internal or external processes to develop export business, e.g. new business model or the carrying out of non-regulatory technical requirements
Note
- Travel Costs are only eligible for overseas trips:
- Eligible Travel Costs: Economy Air/Ferry or Rail Fares;
- Mileage (60c per kilometre) or
- Economy Car Hire (mileage cannot be claimed on Car Hire)
Ineligible Expenditure Categories
- Domestic trade fairs and shows
- Researching expanding market/sales activities within the Republic of Ireland
- Researching into existing markets for existing products
- Attendance at international conferences, summits, forums, symposiums, stand-alone company events are not eligible for support.
Application Process
- Complete and Submit an Online Application with Supporting Documentation
- Wait for email confirming receipt of application
- Review & assessment will then take place (within 3 / 4 weeks)
- Decision - If approved, a letter of offer will be sent. If not approved, notification issued
Drawdown of funding
- After the event has taken place, submit your funding claim via online portal (link and details contained within letter of offer issued). Deadline date contained within letter of offer – in general, no later than 6 months from date of trade fairs/completion of items approved.
