11.00 am to 1.30 pm | National Launch of Pilot Entrepreneurship Programme for People with DisabilitiesJoin us for the National Launch of a new suite of enterprise supports for people with disabilities. The event is for anyone who has a disability or knows someone with a disability who would like to become self-employed and find out more about the new tailored supports on offer from the Local Enterprise Office. The keynote speaker at the event is Jack Kavanagh. Jack is a remarkable motivational speaker, pharmacist and advocate for resilience and wellness. At the age of 20, Jack suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury that left him with just 15% muscle function. Despite this significant challenge, he returned to Trinity College Dublin to complete his Pharmacy degree. Jack has continuously defied the odds, becoming an inspiring figure in overcoming adversity and promoting a positive mindset. A former competitive windsurfer, Jack’s journey has been highlighted in his acclaimed TEDx Talk, Fearless Like A Child, Overcoming Adversity, and his award-winning documentary Breaking Boundaries. He is also the host of the Only Human Podcast, where he explores topics related to personal growth and resilience. Additionally, Jack serves on the boards of the National Disability Authority and the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, contributing to leadership development and advocacy for inclusive environments. This will be followed by a panel discussion, facilitated by Elaine Keogh (Freelance Journalist and Broadcaster). Panellists include: - David Nestor, founder of Nestor Freight services;
- Eva Burke, founder of Neuro Diversity Navan;
- and Shiela Comisky, Employability Officer with SeeTec.
