National Women's Enterprise Day 2024

The Crypt beneath St. Mel's Cathedral, Longford - Thursday, 17th October

Why not join us at National Women's Enterprise Day (NWED) midlands region event (Longford, Laois, Offaly & Westmeath) taking place on Thursday, 17th October 2024.  We are very excited to announce that this year's event will take place at The Crypt beneath St. Mel's Cathedral in Longford.  This is the first time that this national landmark will be used for a business networking event.

This year's theme is “Making It Happen" particularly appropriate as we celebrate female entrepreneurs making it happen every day.

Key note speaker will be Anne Heraty founder and former Chief Executive of CPL Resources plc. Anne was also honoured with the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.  This year the local ambassador is Louise Brennan, the driving force behind the hugely successful Fabiani and Mudshot in Longford.  MC on the day is Sinéad Hussey, Midlands Correspondent for RTÉ news, who will also facilitate a Q&A session.  Internationally recognised soprano, Emer Barry will share her music industry experiences, highlighting a new business sector for our NWED event.  Director of Services for Longford County Council, Barbara Heslin will open the event as well as participating in the Q&A session.
