Session 1
The focus with this session is to prepare participants who are thinking of starting up their own business to develop an awareness and practical understanding of the steps involved in becoming self-employed and starting up their own business such as:
- Start-up costs
- Running costs
- Pricing the product/service
- Targeting relevant clients/customers
- Different allowances and schemes available to new start-ups
Session 2
The focus with this session is on how to market your new start-up or business with little or no budget discussing several marketing techniques including the following:
- Market Research
- Marketing steps for a start-up or new business
- SWOT analysis
- Marketing Mix
- Digital marketing trends for 2024
Session 3
This final session covers important topics such as
- Business plan
- Business name registration
- Business insurance
- Different ways to trade: Sole trader, Partnership, Limited Company
- Running business from home – pros and cons
- Opening a business bank account
An easy-to-understand manual is provided to each participant before commencement of the course which includes practical information and guidance, comprehensive notes, together with templates and links for future reference.
