    Student Inc. 2022 Final Showcase

    The Student Inc. 2022 Final Showcase took place last week in The Vertigo at Cork County Council. It was a fantastic day, where participants from the programme received the opportunity to showcase their business ideas. Student Inc. is a full-time 13-week programme that runs annually over the summer months of June, July and August. The programme is open to all MTU students, regardless of their year of study or academic discipline. The goal is to encourage student entrepreneurs to assess the feasibility of their business ideas and start a business in a safe and nurturing environment. ...

    4 South Cork Clients Nominated for the Irish Country Magazines "Irish Made Awards 2022"...

    A huge congratulations is in order for four of our South Cork clients who have been nominated for the Irish Country Magazines "Irish Made Awards 2022". Following a competitive selection process, an esteemed panel of judges whittled it down to a handpicked selection of impressive businesses across 12 categories. Charlie Mahon Ceramics Pottery was nominated for the Home category. Charlie Mahon is an award-winning Irish artist and ceramist. He creates signature pottery collections in his studio in Little Island, Cork. Every item - each platter, bowl, mug or ramekin - is individually hand thrown and hand painted, and signed by Charlie. GROUND Wellbeing was nominated for the Gift and Wellness categories. GROUND Wellbeing crafts natural plant-based ingredients to create products that and intuitive self-care rituals. All of the products are handmade in small batches in Cork, using vegan ingredients; organic where possible, and blended with sincere intention to soothe the soul....

    Google, Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Offices are today announcing a new partnership, with a focus on supporting Irish businesses to upskill digitally and enhance their online capabilities. The new ‘You’re the Business’ programme aims to accelerate Irish SME growth through digitalisation in the form of a free of charge online training scheme, as well as an SME reward programme. This comes after recent research from Google found that significant gaps in the areas of digital skills and competence remain a concern for many SMEs....

    National Award for South Cork Students at Enterprise Finals...

    Students from South Cork have taken first prize in My Entrepreneurial Journey and a Special Merit in the Junior Category at this year’s Student Enterprise Programme National Finals. The Finals of the Local Enterprise Office initiative were held physically for the first time in three years at the Helix in Dublin with An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and host RTE’s Rick O’Shea, with students and teachers in attendance from all over the country. Supported by Local Enterprise Office South Cork, Andrew Ryan from Colaiste Muire won first place in the junior My Entrepreneurial Journey competition with Grandma’s Larder. With Beefree winning a special merit in the Junior category. BeeFree developed a wide and sustainable range of beeswax wraps for food. The winning students were Andrew Ryan and Ellen McDonagh, also from Colaiste Muire in Crosshaven, who worked under the guidance of their teachers, Claire O’Brien, Anna O’Sullivan, and Pamela O’Connell....
